Rebecca Cupples began her training at Philadelphia Civic Ballet where she studied and performed until attending University of the Arts where she received her B.F.A. in dance. Miss Cupples has studied with Andrew Pap, Barbara Sandonato, Carol Sklarroff, Roni Koresh, Milton Myers, Faye Snow, and Pat Thomas.
Miss Cupples continues to further her dance education and experience attending class and workshops frequently. Rebecca has performed and staged her own work on both the east and west coasts as well as collaborating with other artists in television, film and stage. Miss Cupples currently teaches in the Philadelphia area and sets her own works in and around the Philadelphia area. Rebecca has most recently performed in her own piece “Stages” in the Ect. Performance series, and worked with Tap Team Two performing a modern piece choreographed by Corinne Karon as well as occasionally performing with Charles Tyson’s Sawtown Dancers. Rebecca was Artistic Director of Doylestown Dance Center Ballet Company from 2009-2019. She is also an experienced competition choreographer and has received awards and recognition for her work on the competitive circuit.
Teaching remains her first love and nothing brings Rebecca more joy than sharing her beloved art form with others.Rebecca has many students who have pursued dance beyond high school attending Universities such as University of the Arts, Ailey/Fordham, Juilliard, and Temple. She is proud to say many of her students have gone on to perform in professional situations including Columbia Classical Ballet, Project Moshen, the cast of Jubilee, as well as cruise lines and theater productions.
