Antonio Rosario was born in San Francisco De Macoris, Dominican
Republic. At the age of 15, he began his dance training at Ballet Hispanico, in New York City. In 2010, he received a full scholarship to study at Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet under the direction of Gelsey Kirkland and Michael Chernov, where he later became a founding member of the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet, performing Pas de Trio from Swan Lake, Peasant Variation from Giselle, Pas d’Esclave from Le Corsaire, Four Boys Dance from Raymonda, Pierrot in Harlequinade, excerpts from Sleeping Beauty, Prince and Spanish Lead from the Nutcracker, and works by Danish choreographer, August Bournonville including La Ventana, and Ballebille from Napoli. Antonio won 2nd place in the Flamenco Certamen USA held at Lincoln
Center, NYC. He has danced with Ballet Fantastique, performed with the Eugene Symphony, and was a lead dancer with Ballet 5:8 performing original works across the nation. He also debuted with the Chicago Sinfonietta alongside Wendy Clinard and Nino de los Reyes.
Antonio joined First State Ballet Theatre in 2022 as a company member. His repertoire with FSBT includes Fairy Doll Pas Des Trois, Espada from Don Quixote, excerpts from La Bayadere as Solor, Diana and Action Pas de Deux, and Cavalier in the Nutcracker. He also debuted contemporary work such as Unwound by Viktor Plotnikov, (Contra)dance and Sélo by Zachary
Kapeluck.
